These solid brass plates are designed for machine or hand engraving and will show a brilliant gold color under the black surface. These brass plates can be used for a variety of purposes from nameplates to desk or door plates to plaques and awards. Other uses are dog tags, jewelry, and artwork.
These are made from high quality brass designed for engraving and will have a finish that uniform, smooth, and blemish-free. - Solid Brass Blanks Made In The USA
- Material thickness; brass is .60mm / .023"
- Black on brass plates will display engraved letters in a gold/brass color.
- These engraving blanks are intended for use with rotary and mechanical type engraving methods (Surface cutting or scratching). These engraving plates are not intended to be used for laser type engraving machines
- The engraving plaques come with a clear thin plastic coating to protect the engraving side of the plate and should be removed before engraving
- If you order customized holes punched into the plates, the actual size will be 3mm / 0.12" in diameter and is placed approximately 3mm from the edge of the plate (Screws are sold separately)

Good plates. Not very bright brass.
The product was the exact size advertised. The holes were clean and centered. The product did not have any defects or scratches. It was packaged well and arrived promptly. My only complaint was the color/brightness of the engraving. I tried the "Laser Engravable Plates Black on Brass Plated Steel" that were SKU 32000 before these. Those were good plates too, but the brass that shows through was not bright enough for me. I was hoping this product would be brighter. However, after engraving they look almost identical. I communicated with customer support about it to see if they had a product closer to what I needed. The customer support was prompt and friendly. I tried their recommendations and ruled out any problems on my end (support suggested that the engraver was not powerful enough to remove the black coating). In the end these are nice plates that are well made. The brass that shows through after engraving is just not bright and contrasted enough for what I need.
